To say that connecting with #RTP changed my life my be an exaggeration, but if so, only just. It certainly changed my thoughts, views and opportunites for retirement.

It all started when my brother was staying with us following an unfortunate and serious leg injury whilst skiing. One evening television viewing centered on an Ultramarathon in Chile in the Atacama Desert. Having watched the documentary I was hooked - not to compete may I add, well not at this stage anyhow, but to look them up and see what remote and unexplored places they visited and what opportunities there we as a volunteer.

Let me say at this stage - be careful about getting involved because it gets into your system and starts running through your veins and it almost becomes a type of lifeblood. Having said that you will make friends from all around the world and you will be inspired beyond belief by the people and many of their stories.
